Bad grounding is the source of a great majority of electrical problems. Always use a heavy ground
cable, connect it between the negative battery terminal and starter or engine block as close to the
starter as possible. This will insure the good ground path for the starter. Make sure your connections
are clean, tight and bear metal to metal. Leave a little slack or service loop in the cable, this will
allow the engine to move without breaking the connection and allow easier maintenance or changes
later. Ground the engine block to the frame and the engine block to the body using a heavy ground
wire or cable in both cases. Additional ground wires or cables are required when using a fiberglass
body or components.
